NATCHITOCHES – Devin Blake and Breanna Hale, both of Natchitoches, are this year’s recipients of the Luther W. Lott Sr. Memorial Scholarship. The award is presented to Northwestern State University students whose parents or guardians are employees of Lott Oil Co.

“We are honored to recognize not one, but two deserving students this fall semester through the Luther W. Lott Sr. Memorial Scholarship,” said Buddy Lott, owner and CEO of Lott Oil. “Providing this opportunity for our employees’ families is a meaningful way to carry forward my father’s legacy of dedication to service and community. These young scholars exemplify the drive and promise that this scholarship was created to foster.”

Blake is a junior majoring in electrical engineering technology.  His mother, Benita Blake, has been employed with Lott Oil for 5-1/2 years.

Hale is an incoming freshman majoring in nursing.  Her mother, Gwen Hale, will celebrate her 19th year as a Lott Oil employee next month.

The Luther W. Lott Sr. Memorial Scholarship is a four-year scholarship established in 2017 that has helped support several NSU students pursuing their degrees.
